STP Inlet Screens

GEMS has extensive experience with the installation, maintenance, and overhaul of all types of Screening systems for STP Inlets. Whether it be onsite maintenance or complete overhauls in the workshop, we have the skills and experience to get the best life out of any Screening system.

We work with Band Screens, Screw Conveyor Screening systems, Drum Screens, both inclined and horizontal, and all types of Screw Compactors.

Recently, GEMS personnel have been involved with the measurement, design, and installation of new Band Screens for two plants to ensure that the Screens could be installed and removed without entry to the Inlet chambers.

Moranbah WWTP inlet screen before weld repairs and screw brush replacement
Moranbah WWTP Inlet Screen Repairs
GEMS repaired the Moranbah WWTP inlet screen for Isaac Regional Council, completing weld repairs and replacing screw brushes to restore reliable screening performance.
Inverell STP Aerator Assembly & Installation
GEMS assembled and installed six new aerators at the Inverell Sewage Treatment Plant, completing the first stage safely and on time while improving treatment efficiency and supporting essential regional infrastructure.
Nebo Rd WTP – Chlorine Contact Tank Flow Meter Replacement
GEMS completed the Nebo Rd WTP flow meter replacement in six hours, installing a new 1.2m Krohne unit. Careful planning and safe delivery ensured Mackay’s water supply remains accurate, reliable, and compliant.
Karumba BOD Tank 1 Aeration Upgrade
GE Maintenance Solutions (GEMS) successfully delivered the Karumba BOD Tank 1 Aeration Upgrade for Sibanye Stillwater. The project involved removing outdated aeration components adding a new EDI-supplied aeration system.
IRC Wastewater Treatment Plant Inlet Screen Maintenance
In May 2025, GEMS was awarded the IRC contract to maintain inlet screens across six wastewater treatment plants, with key repairs already completed at Clermont WWTP.
