STP Inlet Screens

GEMS has extensive experience with the installation, maintenance, and overhaul of all types of Screening systems for STP Inlets. Whether it be onsite maintenance or complete overhauls in the workshop, we have the skills and experience to get the best life out of any Screening system.

We work with Band Screens, Screw Conveyor Screening systems, Drum Screens, both inclined and horizontal, and all types of Screw Compactors.

Recently, GEMS personnel have been involved with the measurement, design, and installation of new Band Screens for two plants to ensure that the Screens could be installed and removed without entry to the Inlet chambers.

2024

Proserpine Inlet Screen Overhauls

In November 2024, GEMS was engaged by Whitsunday Regional Council to overhaul inlet screens and screw conveyors at the Proserpine Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The works included basket, brush, and liner replacement, weld repairs, blasting and repainting of screws, and full reinstallation — all completed while keeping the plant operational.

2023

CANNONVALE STP MEMBRANE REPLACEMENTS

GEMS was engaged by Veolia to replace the membranes at Cannonvale STP and install new ones.

Our scope was to fabricate 12 x stainless membrane frames, fabricate new aeration pipework, supply labour, cranes, scaffolding, and equipment to install the new membranes.



Also included was the dismantling and disposal of the old membranes.

2023

YEPOON STP MEMBRANE WORKS

GE Maintenance Solutions was engaged to swiftly handle the installation of three new membranes and execute warranty repairs on existing ones at the Yepoon Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

This urgent project, inspired by GEM's successful membrane replacement work at the Cannonvale STP, required meticulous planning and execution within a tight 21-day timeline, involving material procurement, stainless steel frame fabrication, bracket installation, core drilling, and membrane replacement.
