GE Maintenance Solutions (GEMS) was engaged to manage a substantial project at the Mackay South Waste Recycling Facility (MSWRF). It included the replacement of Diffusers in the Sequence Batch Reactors (SBRs) and essential SBR cleans.

The project spanned a timeframe of four months, during which GEMS managed the removal of over 600 tons of grit, rag, and waste from the four SBRs and Bio-selectors.

GEMS managed all aspects of the project, from labour to the hiring of Vacuum Trucks, a 100-ton crane, Franna cranes, Bobcats, and sealed trucks, ensuring the safe removal and disposal of Category 2 waste materials.

New EDI diffusers were also installed and commissioned ensuring much improved aeration from the SBR’s.
